Rebound therapy is the therapeutic use of the trampoline to develop and promote motor skills, body awareness, balance, co-ordination and communication.  Improved health and fitness and greater independence are encouraged, whilst fun, enjoyment and the opportunity to succeed are of paramount importance. Rebound Therapy is accessible to pupils with a range of additional needs such as specific physical disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders, learning difficulties, co-ordination problems and all individual abilities.  At Hope Wood Academy, this approach is used as an integrated part of the pupil’s movement programme, drawing additional input and assessment from relevant professionals such as Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nursing Staff and GPs.
